Detour

Harper can't bear to think of her mother in a coma following a car accident caused by her stepfather. In a drunken rage against him, Harper hatches the idea of murdering him. But that doesn't fall on deaf ears. The very next day, the thug he'd been talking to and a stripper turn up at his place, forcing Harper to follow through on his thoughts from the night before. The trio then embark on a 100-mile-an-hour road trip to Texas. Detour is a road movie reminiscent of Jonathan Glazer's brilliant Sexy Beast.
